I received a phone call today from a dear friend of mine and we were discussing "coincidence". I personally believe there is no such thing and look upon such occurrences as synchronicity instead. In his particular case, my friend was told he is being laid off from his job next week and this will be his last paycheck with the current company. The same day he was given this news, a former co-worker called him and offered him a position, which may only be temporary, that will actually pay him a better wage for the duration of the job. My friend has been struggling with an awkward marriage which he will not abandon and it has already cost him dearly in many ways. During our last conversation I had reminded him that positive energy and thoughts bring about positive reactions, and it is my belief that his practice of positivity brought about the synchronicity of a "door opening as another closes". When we feed the negativity in our lives all it accomplishes is producing more negativity. If we practice instead positive thinking, we can bring about the good we are seeking at just the time we need it, synchronizing with the God energy of the universe so that it appears to be coincidental. Awareness of the cycles of thought and action being connected is part of becoming enlightened, and regardless of your personal path, this is a truth we all acknowledge.
